New Delhi, July 15 (IANS) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Thursday alleged that the Congress is resorting to “diversionary tactics” to get away from the price rise issue by launching a “baseless campaign” against the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
The BJP also demanded the Congress party stop its attempts to defame the BJP and the Sangh parivar by linking RSS functionaries to the Mecca Masjid blast case.
“It seems after the successful nationwide bandh protesting against price rise, it seems the Congress party is petrified about its future, so these are their diversionary tactics to get away from the issue of inflation. They have launched a baseless campaign against the Sangh,” BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar told reporters here.
RSS functionaries Ashok Varshney and Ashok Berry were reported to have been questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for their alleged links to Devender Gupta, the main accused in Mecca Masjid blast case. The BJP and the RSS claim the allegations are baseless.
