Lucknow : A two-year-old girl died after she was allegedly thrown out of a running train in Uttar Pradesh’s Lalitpur district by four men following an argument over seat-sharing with the girl’s parents, an official said Friday.
The four men, who are absconding, threw Nisha out of the Jhansi-Bina train after a verbal duel with her father Ram Kishore and mother Phul Kumari.
Initially, the four men shared the seat with the couple but later asked them to leave the seat and sit somewhere else. The couple objected to the move and it was followed by a heated argument with the men. Following this, the four men started assaulting the couple and threw their minor daughter out of the train.
The incident took place Thursday evening near the Jeeraun railway station in Lalitpur, some 300 km from here.
“We are enquiring into the case with assistance from the Lalitpur district police. Efforts are on to nab the four men,” Government Railway Police inspector Nirmal Singh told reporters Friday in Lalitpur.
“Ram Kishore and Phul Kumari, residents of Thanvara village in Lalitpur, were going to Bina town in Madhya Pradesh when the incident took place,” he added.
