Patna: The trend set by Congress seems hard for other political parties to ignore. Result: more Muslims are being fielded by them in the coming Assembly elections. Last week Congress had 22 Muslim names in its 1st list of 77 candidates. Yesterday, RJD announced 17 Muslim names in its 1st list of 65 candidates.
Besides the two, JD-U had 9 Muslims in its 1st list of 54 candidates. The list was released on Wednesday.
However, the negative aspect of fielding more than one Muslim candidate by major parties minus BJP/JD-U in a particular assembly constituency is that the BJP/JD-U candidate will win.
