Srinagar : Three members of a family were buried alive when an avalanche hit an isolated village in Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday.
The tragedy took place in Thimran (Shangus) in Anantnag district when the three were searching for their missing cattle, police said.
“The avalanche buried all of them,” said Shafqat Ahmad Watali, the deputy inspector general of police in Anantnag. Search and rescue parties have moved out, he added.
Thimran (Shangus) is the last inhabited village in Anantnag district.
