We want justice for our daughter, says Radhika’s mother

By IANS,

New Delhi: After more than 48 hours since the murder of Delhi University student Radhika Tanwar and with her assailant still untraced, the victim’s parents Thursday said Delhi Police haven’t told them anything about the case, and they want their 20-year-old daughter to get justice soon.

“Police have not told us anything about the investigation… we only want the assailant to be arrested soon,” Radhika’s father Rajinder Tanwar told reporters at his west Delhi residence.

Rajinder Tanwar said: “She (Radhika) had never told us anything about somebody stalking her. If there was any one, she would have told us.”

The victim’s mother Mamta Tanwar called for speedy justice for her daughter.

“Ask me, I have lost my daughter. She should get justice and the assailant should be arrested soon and handed over to me,” a sobbing Mamta said.

She also denied that Radhika had shared anything with them and said she had been behaving normally.

A resident of Naraina area, Radhika was a second year student of Ram Lal Anand College in Shantiniketan. She was crossing a foot overbridge near Dhaula Kuan with her friends when a man suddenly shot her in the neck from behind and disappeared into the crowd of students and office-goers Tuesday morning.
