New Delhi : One person died of swine flu while 11 fresh cases of the H1N1 virus were reported in the country in the week ending March 20, a health ministry official said here Wednesday.
The lone death was reported from Punjab during March 14-20. Earlier, two such deaths have taken place – one each in Punjab and Haryana – taking the total number of such deaths since the first case of H1N1 was reported in 2009 to 2,744.
Eleven indigenous cases were reported during the week – eight from Punjab, two from Delhi and one from Rajasthan. The total number of cases now stands at 46,484 since the influenza broke out in 2009.
