Bhullar, Sujjan make cut in Indonesian Masters

By IANS,

Jakarta : Gaganjeet Bhullar and Sujjan Singh ensured themselves of weekend action as they made the cut at the Indonesian Masters here Friday.

A whole lot of other Indians were still uncertain as Friday’s play was cut short by lightning.

Bhullar was the only Indian still below par after two rounds as he shot 72 after a 71 on first day to be tied 32nd at 143. Sujjan carded 73 to add to his first round 72 and was tied 42nd place. Digvijay Singh (73-73) in 62nd place is also likely to make
the cut.

Malaysia’s Shaaban Hussin (nine-under 135) took the surprise clubhouse lead after the second round. He carded a five-under-par 67 with six birdies against three bogeys in the first nine. Shaaban’s two-day total of nine-under-par 135 equalled his best two-day score at the 2009 Brunei Open.

India’s Amandeep Johl was even par through 14 holes and two-over for the tournament. Manav Jaini (74-73) and Anirban Lahiri (76-71) were at 147 and would have to wait to know their fate when rest of the players will complete their second round.

Himmat Rai, Vikrant Chopra, Firoz Ali, Gaurav Ghei and Jyoti Randhawa are unlikely to make the cut.

Thailand’s Pariya Junhasavasdikul shot the best round of the week so far with a superb 65 to share second place with countryman Kiradech Aphibarnrat.
