Munda seeking expert opinion on Jharkhand’s development

Ranchi: Enthused by his German visit, Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda has invited experts from different fields to seek their suggestions on how to develop the state, an official said Sunday.

The meetings, to be held in a three-star hotel in Ranchi, will be attended by Magsaysay award winner Rajendra Singh, Metro rail expert E. Sreedharan, principals of management colleges and experts from other fields.

“There will be a sector-wise review of different departments on how to develop the state. Experts from different parts of the country will participate in the meetings. The meetings will start on Monday and conclude on Friday,” a state government press statement said Sunday.

The three-star hotel venue has invited flak from the opposition.

“The state government will spent millions of rupees by holding the meetings in a three-star hotel. We are not against meetings but why is the state government not using its own infrastructure,” asked Radha Krishna Kishore, Jharkhand Congress spokesperson, when speaking to IANS.

Munda, his principal secretary D.K. Tiwary and Industries Secretary A.P. Singh, visited Germany April 3-10 to woo investors.
