Guwahati: Assam Election Watch (AEW) has revealed that Assam has elected 47 crorepatis as legislators in the recently concluded assembly election. Out of 126 MLAs analyzed by AEW, 47 (37%) MLAs are crorepatis. About 60% MLAs of AGP are crorepatis followed by 40% MLAs from INC. AIUDF is at the bottom – only 17% of its MLAs (3 out of 18) are crorepatis. The Assam 2006 Assembly Elections had only 16 crorepati MLAs.
