Guwahati: Eli Ahmed, noted writer and literary personality, has been selected for the Dr Nirmalprava Bordoloi Award 2011 for her contributions to the field of literature. The award ceremony will be held on June 20, 2011 which is the birthday of Dr Bordoloi and is observed as Prerona Divas ( day of inspiration) since 1998 in Guwahati.
The award function has been organised by the Kamrup (Metro) District unit of the Sadou Asom Lekhika Samaroh Samiti since 2009. It is presented to a spirited writer at the interval of every two years. The award consists of Rs 15,000 in cash, silk clothes, a silver plaque, a citation and a bundle of books.
