Kolkata : The official website of West Bengal’s premier educational institution, the Presidency University, has been hacked, a senior varsity official said here Thursday.

“The university’s website has been hacked and we have written to the state government urging them to probe the matter,” Registrar of Presidency University Pradeep Kumar Sengupta told IANS.

Some days back the under-graduate merit list of the university was leaked and an inquiry revealed that the website had been hacked.

“The state government has forwarded the case to the cyber crime department of Kolkata Police and the sleuths are probing into it,” said a senior police officer.
