Indian equities trading subdued a day after terror attack

Mumbai : Trading in Indian equities started on a quiet note Thursday, a day after the three terror blasts in India’s commercial capital, with a key index down around 50 points some two hours after opening bell.

The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 18,563.69 points against the previous close at 18,596.02 points, was ruling at 18,544.11 points at 11:10 am.

At this level, the index was down 51.91 points or 0.28 percent. As many as 18 stocks that go into the Sensex basket were in the red, while 12 others were in the positive territory.

The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was also trading lower at 5573.65 points, down 11.80 points or 0.21 percent.

The broader markets in both bourses were ruling flat.
