Beijing : Twenty-one people were jailed Friday in southeast China for telecom fraud, Xinhua reported.
Two of the accused were sentenced to life imprisonment, while the rest were jailed ranging from 18 months to nine years by the municipal intermediate court in Zhangzhou city.
They were charged with defrauding Chinese nationals in Australia, Taiwan and the US.
Life-term convicts, Lai Shaojun and Lai Wenqing, were also fined 200,000 yuan and deprived of their political rights for life.
All the accused were arrested last year.
