New Delhi : Nuclear power has to be pursued with enhanced emphasis on safety, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office V. Narayanasamy said Wednesday.
He said in a written statement in the Lok Sabha that India’s energy resources were limited while the demand was huge and rapidly growing.
“In the Indian scenario, all sources of electricity generation need to be deployed optimally,” he said.
“Given India’s energy resources profile, nuclear power is an important clean energy option for long term energy security and sustainability. It has to be pursued with enhanced emphasis on safety.”
