Mourinho confirms Sahin’s return to fitness

By IANS,

Madrid : Real Madrid football coach Jose Mourinho has revealed that summer signing Nuri Sahin has been included in the squad for Sunday’s La Liga match at home to Osasuna.

Sahin has been sidelined with a knee injury since signing from Borussia Dortmund over the summer, but will be on the bench for Sunday’s 12 o’clock kick off.

“We’ll see if he plays or not,” Mourinho was quoted as saying by Xinhua. “Sahin has a lot of things in common with Xabi Alonso and with his return from injury we will now have possibilities that we didn’t have previously,” commented Mourinho, who confirmed that injury will keep in-form Kaka out of the game and also from his return to international football with Brazil next week.

Mourinho also said the club was not in the market for a right back when the transfer market opens at the start of January.

“We have four central defenders and a lot of players who can fill in there. I am not looking for a full back, a striker or a goalkeeper. There will be nothing in the winter transfer market,” he commented.

He said if he needed new faces, he would look to players emerging from the club’s youth system.

“They are prepared to help if they are needed and if we have problems then they are in condition to do so. I am relaxed about it, because counting on them, we have a squad of 50 players and they can help,” he confirmed.

Finally, Mourinho confirmed that Sergio Ramos’ good recent form would see him continue to play in central defence in the 12 o’clock kick off, which he explained posed some new questions to his players.

“You wake up early, you don’t know if you should have lunch or breakfast. They are small details that you have to adapt to. It is new for both us and also for Osasuna,” he said.

“Last year we beat Osasuna 1-0 and we lost away to them. They are a tough side to beat and they beat Levante last week. That means they are confident and full of self esteem, It will be a tough game for us,” he said.
