Ayodhya Film Festival from Dec. 18-20

By TCN News,

New Delhi: The 5th Ayodhya Film Festival will be organized at three different places in Ayodhya and Faizabad from 18-20th December. The purpose of this festival is to explore different art forms that mirror realities of the societies and promote communal harmony.

“Ayodhya film society had started its journey in 2006 with the motto: “Awam ka cinema” (people’s cinema). The journey is now gradually being institutionalized. We had started very humbly five years back with the first film festival at Ayodhya-Faizabad, and to our great pride, it has since then created a kind of cultural wave,” say the organizers.

“Sectarian forces again seem to be beckoning on the path of hatred, leading to division among communities and spoiling the secular inclusive fabric of our nation. It hence becomes crucial for the people from the social sector, civil society and youth to voice their concern and stand united against the forces that are trying to harm the communal harmony. Awam Ka Cinema film festival at Ayodhya hence also attains political importance in this place,” they add.

People’s cinema is an attempt to spread awareness, take action and bring a wave of change in society. Our focus is to initiate a kind of dialogue between communities, the organizers say.

The 5th film festival will showcase a variety of films based on shared culture of sacrifices, glorious traditions and of common heritage and those in the interest of the people.
