New Delhi: With the minimum temperature Saturday dipping to 5.1 degrees Celsius — four notches below average, it was the second coldest Jan 28 in Delhi in the last five years. The winter sun though provided the much-needed warmth.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the coldest Jan 28 was in 2008 when the minimum temperature was recorded at 2 degrees. With 12 degrees, 2007 was the warmest in the past five years.
“The day will be clear and sunny. The chill will return towards the evening. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 20 degrees,” an IMD official told IANS.
Friday’s minimum temperature was recorded at 7.6 degrees while the maximum settled at 21 degrees, both a notch below average.
