Lucknow : Union Minister for Rural Development Jairam Ramesh is on a two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh to review the schemes of his ministry.
Ramesh, who arrived here late Friday, is scheduled to meet Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav Saturday. Besides overseeing the progress of central schemes like MNREGA, he will also discuss “some important issues” with the chief minister, officials said.
The union minister will hold the departmental review with Rural Development Minister of State Arvind Singh Gop and get a “first hand feedback”.
After his interactions with government officials, he is scheduled to meet the media before leaving for Patna for a similar exercise.
