Kurukshetra University president’s killer held in Gurgaon

Gurgaon : The Crime Branch of the Gurgaon police Wednesday claimed to have arrested the killer of the Kurukshetra University’s students’ union president.

“Suresh alias Tangu was arrested Wednesday morning at 7 a.m. along with his aide, Inderjeet from Bajghera railway crossing near the Palam Vihar area of Gurgaon. He is involved in four murders, including that of Kurukshetra University’s students’ union president. He will be produced in a city court of Kurukshetra soon,” said Maheshwar Dyal, DCP (Crime).

According to Dyal, Tangu shot dead Virender Singh, president, student union of Kurukshetra University in broad daylight October 17 last year. Tangu’s four other gang members helped him to escape from the university premises after the shooting.

28-year-old Tangu is also involved in a number of cases involving robbery, drugs smuggling and extortion cases in Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan.
