Tunis : The official website of the Tunisian prime minister was hacked Monday and thousands of confidential documents were leaked, Xinhua reported.
According to the Tunisie Numerique website, the leaks include information about the funding of a political campaign by the ruling Ennahdha party.
Party officials declined to comment.
Anonymous hackers targeted the justice ministry website, and threatened to release confidential government information if it failed to defend human rights and freedom of expression in the country.
Last year, a people’s uprising in Tunisia forced Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali, who led the country for 23 years, to step down in January 2011.
