Bhopal : Zahida Parvez, prime accused in activist Shehla Masood’s murder, Wednesday alleged outside a CBI court in Indore that BJP legislator Dhruv Narayan Singh had “a major role” in the crime.
The legislator has been questioned by CBI officials about his relations with Masood and Parvez. He refused to comment on Parvez’s charge.
Parvez, an interior designer, was presented before Special Judge Shubra Singh in Indore, over 180 km from here.
While leaving the court, she told reporters: “He (Dhruv Nayaran) has too much involvement in it.” She alleged that attempts were on to shield him.
Parvez was brought to court along with co-accused and friend Saba Farooqui, co-accused Shaqib and contract killers Irfan Ali and Tabish Khan.
CBI officials claimed the murder was one of passion and Parvez was jealous of the activist’s friendship with the legislator.
BJP spokesperson Brajesh Lunawat said that allegations did not mean someone was a culprit. Dhruv Narayan Singh was fully cooperating with the CBI, he said.
Masood was shot dead outside her house here Aug 16 last year as she was about to leave to attend a programme in support of Anna Hazare’s fast for a strong Lokpal law.
