Nigerian embassies open condolence registers

Abuja : Nigerian embassies abroad have been ordered to open condolence registers for the victims of an air crash three days ago in the country.

All 153 people on board a plane, which took off from Abuja, died after the aircraft crashed into a residential area Sunday in the country’s port city of lagos. Forty more people on land also perished in the crash, Xinhua reported.

Foreign Affairs Minister Olugbenga Ashiru who gave the directive Tuesday said national flags should also be flown at half-mast in the 103 Nigerian missions abroad.

President Goodluck Jonathan Sunday declared a three-day national mourning for the victims.
