New Delhi : On a day newly-appointed Chief Election Commissioner V.S. Sampath said dates for presidential elections will be announced soon, Congress Monday maintained silence over its candidate.
Asked about the Congress’s candidate, party spokesperson Manish Tewari said nothing has been decided yet.
“A process is going on, but nothing is final. Once consultations fructify in some conclusion we will get back to you,” he told reporters at the party’s daily briefing.
The notification for the presidential poll is expected to be issued June 13.
Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee’s name is making the rounds as the probable Congress candidate for the post.
