New Delhi: Riot victims of Gopalgarh on Friday sought political intervention of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for protection of innocent members of the minority community in the Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. A delegation of 25 Muslim social activists, elders from Mewat and victims of violence in Gopalgarh, Bharatpur, met Congress General Secretary and MP Rahul Gandhi at 10 Janpath in New Delhi. Congress is the ruling party in Rajasthan. The delegation had met National Commission for Minorities in Delhi on 27th June.
“The delegates met him for political intervention in Rajasthan so that innocent people from minority are protected and their property saved from Hindu fringe elements. The delegation members narrated the incident and gave a memorandum of demand,” said the delegation in a statement.
He assured the victims not to be worried as he promised to take actions and will talk to the chief minister of Rajasthan today.
Delegates included members of Rajasthan Muslim Forum, members of victim families and others.
On Rahul’s suggestion the following charter of demand was given to him:
CHARTER OF DEMAND:
Thank you for your kind patient hearing the delegation today. Here are the details requiired by you about you about the Gopalgarh incident, victims and actions requested at the earliest.
I. VICTIMS Arrested and family members of the deceased: 1. Abdul Gani s/o Abdul Karim, Gopalgarh; 2. Ali Husain, s/o Abdul Gani;3. Alisher, s/o Abdul Gani; 4. Akbar Ali s/o Abdul Gani (1-4 from one family); 5. Illi s/o Tedha, Gopalgarh. Action: All to be freed as they are victims of CBI/Police conspiracy and bias.
II. Victims (Family Members of Deceased): 1. Shafi Mohd, Vill. Ladmka (brother of deceased Zakir) 2. Shamsudin, Arduka (father of young deceased Irfan);3. Hajru (son of deceased Maulana Khursheed who was brutally hacked and killed), Vill. Jotruhalla; 4. Badrudeen (son of deceased Rehman), Village Jotruhalla; 5. Zahid (son of deceased Shabbir Qazi), village Pathrali; 6. Mehmooda, village Ladmka (his son Mubaruk got killed); 7. Shahuna, Village Maliki (his brother in law Ruknudin got killed). 8. Isa s/o Rahmat, Kheda Danyalpur; 9. Zahid Papda; 10. Iqbal s/o Chandar Khan, Piproli; 11. Dr. Khursheed Ahmed, Gopalgarh (his house was looted and damaged).12. Mohd Ali alias Musa, Gopalgarh. (son of arrested Abdul Gani Sadr, his house was looted); 13. Abdul Rashid, Imam Jama Masjid, Gopalgarh (he was assaulted and his house looted); 14. Iqram s/o Abdul Gani (House and shop looted); 15. Noor Md. Chhotna; 16; Shokin Leela Ladmaka, etc. List submitted earlier.
III. ACTION REQUESTED:
1. Action Against Unfair CBI Investigation and Role of the IO: CBI should be directed to carry out an impartial investigation. CBI ignored 14 FIRs by Muslim victims and took cognizance of only 5 FIRs by police ignoring GOR and GOI Notifications. Change IO of the Inquiry and be replaced by an officer of the rank of IG from a far off state. 6. Reasonable Compensations to the Victims for Rehabilitation: For families of the Killed: 15-20 Lakhs; For Victims of violence/looting: 5-10 Lakhs. 7. Transfer/Suspension of all officers, District Officers, present during the Violence till inquiry is completed.
2. Returning of the Graveyard Land (Khasra 642, 745, 622) to the Gopalgarh Muslims. The District Collector, Gaurav Goyal, should complete all the formalities immediately and hand over the ownership documents to the Muslims. (Action by DM of Bharatpur)
3. Charge-sheet, Suspend and Remove from Service all GOR Officials for Dereliction of Duty and for Unidirectional Killings of Innocent Muslims in Gopalgarh and for Violence in other places (Jodhpur, Udaipur, Jhalawar, Sawai Madhopur and Bharatpur) : Eschewing caste and communal political expediency (Muslims vs Meena; Muslims vs Gujjars, Muslims vs Bheel and Muslims vs Malis, etc.) the GoR should charge sheet the DM Krishan Kunal and SP Hinglaj Dan, for dereliction of duty and other officers, namely, ASP Om Prakash Meghwal, Tehsildar Lakshmi Kant Gupta (who fouled the whole record of Khasar 642 belonging to the graveyard), Adhyatam Gautam, SHO Gopalgarh, Brijesh Meena, Inspector; and all police men of the Thana (constables Jagdish, Shyam Singh, Pradhan, Lekhraj, Kartar Singh, Dulli Chand, etc) who colluded directly and fired targeting Muslims, and distributed fire arms to the RSS hoodlums). It was one way affair. They all should be charged with criminal conspiracy to incite violence and kill Muslims. (Action by: CBI, Chief Secretary, Home Secretary of Rajasthan and the CM of Rajasthan)
4. Arresting and Legal Proceedings against Hindutva Hoodlums: RSS hoodlums who spread the rumor of killing of 20 Gujjars in the Mosque and forced DM/SP to order for fire were, among others, Jawahar Bedam; Girdhari Tiwari, Bhajan Lal Sharma, Madan Mohan Padalwas; Keshir Master; Jawahar Bodoli; Mahveer s/o Lottan Bodoli; manjeet Gulati Sikari; Adv Pramod Sharma, Gopalgarh; Advocate Montu; Dani Gujjar Bhainda; Dr Mohan Singh , Gopalgarh; Lekhraj Saini; Kedar Garg and Badri Garg of Gopalgarh; Man Singh Gujjar s/o Gamandi Singh, Gopalgarh; Bhagwan Singh Penia; Arjun Chirdawal. 5. Sanitize Communal Proclivity in Rajasthan Congress and Bureaucracy by Firm Actions and Training
6. Change Judicial Inquiry Judge. Replacement by an eminent senior judge of HC of known secular credentials. 10. Muslims of Rajasthan are tired of violence: The Congress Party, particularly Mrs Sonia Gandhi and you, should prevail on Shri Ashok Gehlot to prevent, obviate and curb firmly communal violence by punishing officers colluding in fomenting and allowing communal violence.
