Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh’s minorities welfare minister Friday ordered a probe into the leakage of an order on construction of walls around graveyards to the media.
Mohd Azam Khan, the minister, said the confidentiality of the order should have been maintained till it was implemented.
“I have asked the secretary to identify officers and employees responsible for breaching the confidentiality of the order and leaking it to a section of the media,” Khan said.
He said the guilty officials would face the strictest possible punishment including even termination of services.
He said that under the order, it was decided that boundary walls would be constructed around disputed graveyard with an amount of Rs.200 crore allocated from the budget. Boundary walls around graveyards, disputes over which had been resolved, would be constructed in the future.
He said with the leakage of the order, land mafia, who had illegally grabbed land of graveyards, would in all likelihood not allow proper implementation of the order.
