New Delhi: Members of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi and Badruddin Ajmal on Tuesday met Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde over the deteriorating situation in Assam and pathetic conditions in relief camps. The Home Minister has told them that the government is considering CBI probe into the recent violence in Kokrajhar and adjoining areas.

“We told him that Police forces are not working properly to bring the situation to normal. The state government has failed to establish peace and rule of law. The Home Minister has assured us that the government will order a CBI probe into the violence,” said Owaisi who has just returned from Assam after staying there for four days leading relief work at some camps in Dhubri and adjoining areas.

Member of Lok Sabha from Hyderabad and president of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, Asaduddin Owaisi had gone there with a team of doctors from his Owaisi Hospital and relief and medical aid worth Rs 20 lakh. He has also announced Rs one crore in relief for the victims.
