Gurgaon A robbery attempt at the office of a private finance company here Saturday was foiled by a guard. The five robbers escaped, leaving behind a pistol and their vehicle, police said.
Rajbir Singh, 35, a private security guard at a branch of the Muthoot Finance company in Sector 10-A here told IANS: “Two men entered the office as customers. They called someone from their mobile, after which three men armed with country-made pistols and knives came in and tried to overpower me. I called out to my brother Bijender, who is a guard with ICICI bank and was in the building.”
“The guard fired four shots in the air from his rifle. The robbers, in a hurry, left a pistol, knife and their Tata Safari, and fled on foot. We have got important clues through the CCTV footage the company office,” Special Staff Police Station Chief Sanjeev Balhara told IANS.
An FIR has been lodged in the Sector 10 Police station.
