Hyderabad: Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anurag Sharma said on Monday, during a press conference, that city police counter intelligence cell has asked for more information and other inputs from Delhi police special cell on Syed Maqbool who was arrested by DP special cell from Hyderabad on alleged involvement in Pune serial blasts.
Hyderabad police appears determined to find connections of declared a ‘terrorist’ who was residing in their territory.
Mqbool, a local of Nanded, Maharashtra was staying in Shaheennagar area in the suburb of Hyderabad and was seasonal business man. When he was arrested last week, city police officials claimed that he was picked up by Maharashtra ATS. After few days when there were no words from ATS it was assumed by media that Bangalore CCS might have arrested him in connection with Bangalore assassination plot conspiracy case.
But the air was cleared when the Special Cell of the Delhi Police announced in a press conference that they have nabbed ‘Indian Mujahideen commander’ and a ‘bomb making expert.’
Delhi police has claimed that Maqbool was arrested in connection of Pune serial blasts in August this year. Delhi police has earlier arrested four more Muslim youths from Pune in Delhi claiming them to be IM commanders.
Delhi police have also alleged that arrested, alleged IM commanders were planning to carry out fidayeen (suicide bomb attack) attack at Budhgaya in Bihar to avenge the killings of Muslims in Myanmar by Buddhist monks.
Delhi police has also claimed that Maqbool has allegedly taught IM operatives to make explosive devices, and was allegedly in connection with alleged IM founders Bahtkal brothers.
Delhi special cell has also claimed that Maqbool is an active member of MIM, a Muslim political party in the Deccan region. However the very next day, a press statement from party’s chief Assaduddin Owaisi has out rightly denied his involvement in party’s activities.
Mustafa Langde, father of Irfan Langde and father in law of Assad Khan both were arrested by special cell and announced before media on October 11 that both were arrested from Jaipur. But Mustafa Langde, told the national daily, The Hindu, that both his kin were arrested by the Special Cell from Thane on October 5.
Interestingly in this Pune serial blast case of August, which police claimed was carried out by IM and have foreign links not a single casualty occurred. Only one person named Dayanand Patil was injured.
Ironically Dayanand Patil was the first suspect in this case, as Patil was carrying the bag which was stuffed with explosives and went explode near Bahrgava Theater. Patil was interrogated by ATS in the hospital and was then let off. Patil, a tailor by profession, was a native of Bidar in Karnataka.
After few days he left for his home town with his family and has since gone missing. ATS have no clue about his whereabouts.
