Blast kills five in Pakistan

Islamabad : Three soldiers were among five people killed in Pakistan Wednesday when a bomb struck an army convoy, police said.

The remote controlled blast took place around 2.30 p.m. in Shahbaz area of Quetta. About 15 others were injured, Xinhua reported. Three soldiers and two passersby died.

The injured were shifted to a military hospital in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province. The bomb was attached to a motorbike, police said.

About 15 kg of explosives were used in the attack, Quetta Deputy Inspector General of Police Hamid Shakeel said. The toll could increase.
