New Delhi : Both houses of parliament were Friday adjourned for the day as a mark of respect to former prime minister Inder Kumar Gujral, who passed away at the age of 92.
Minutes after Home Minister and Leader of House Sushilkumar Shinde announced Gujral’s death in the Lok Sabha, both the houses were adjourned.
A special session of the union cabinet has been convened Friday evening to mourn Gujral’s passing away.
According to sources, a formal condolence would be offered to the former prime minister on Monday in both the houses, which would be then adjourned then.
Gujral was admitted to a Gurgaon hospital with a lung infection Nov 19 and was on ventilator.
