Dubai : Women in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are a key player in nation building and richly contribute to businesses, socio-economic development and politics, the country’s economy minister has said.
WAM news agency quoted Lubna Al Qasimi as saying at a seminar of the Arab International Women’s Forum (AIWF) here: “Women comprise 32 percent of all financial and banking sector transactions, hold 20 percent of the management jobs and 22 percent of the seats in the Federal National Council.”
The forum called for increased communication, networking and information exchange between the UAE and other countries including the international financial community.
AIWF chairman Haifa Fahoum Al Kaylani said: “We aim to create multilateral corporate and public sector partnerships, with strong emphasis on global business.”
