Srinagar : A 25-year old woman received serious burns on her face in an acid attack in the heart of the city Wednesday.
Police sources said a man threw acid at the victim in a lane in upscale Barzalla neighbourhood where scores of coaching centres are located and is frequented by hundreds of young men and women every day.
The woman, who received serious burns on face, was shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment.
The accused, Riyaz Ahmad Nath, has been arrested, police said and added that the motive behind the attack was not known yet.
