Islamabad : At least four suicide bombers were killed and two policemen injured Thursday when militants launched a brazen attack on a police station in Pakistan’s northwest, media reports said.
The attack was launced at about 5.30 a.m. when seven heavily armed suicide bombers attacked Miriyan police station in Bannu, a district of the country’s northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, from two directions, reported Xinhua citing a TV channel.
Four suicide bombers were shot dead during the counter-attack.
The attack was followed by a fierce exchange of gunfire.
This was the second attack on police since Thursday morning. In a separate attack, militants hurled five hand grenades at a police station in neighbouring Karak district. There were no casualties.
