New Delhi : Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath Tuesday dismissed Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s remark that Sonia Gandhi should have been taken to hospital in a well-equipped ambulance.
“All arrangements were there. What was considered appropriate by Sonia Gandhi, son Rahul and the medical team attending to her, was done,” Nath told reporters outside parliament.
His reaction came after Modi expressed concern over the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Chairperson’s health and tweeted: “Considering her health, Soniaji should have been taken to hospital in a well-equipped ambulance. Still, doctors are best judges.”
“Concerned that basic medical emergency procedures were not used. Would have been better if wheelchair or stretcher were used in parliament,” Modi said.
He also wished Sonia the best of health for the future and that he was glad to know that her health was fine.
Sonia, 66, was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Monday night after she complained of uneasiness in the Lok Sabha when it was debating the food security bill. She was discharged around 1.30 a.m. Tuesday after several tests.
