Vijayawada, AP: The Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated with religious fervour in Vijayawada, a commercial centre of Andhra Pradesh.
The day began with Muslims, attired in their best, offering Eid prayers at various Eidgahs and masajids.
Masjid Quba organised Eid Namaaz in Gymkhana Ground , in Vijayawada.
Addressing the gathering, Maulana Abdul Gaffar Umri explained the importance of Baqrid. The festival is about sacrifice and people should be ready to sacrifice all their belonging in the path of Alllah and lead a virtuous life. They should shun sins and not be lured by worldly allurements. This is the essence of the Eid –ul-Azha, explained the Maulana.
Mrs Ayesha Tayyaba , Principal school participates in the Ladies Eidgah in Gandhiji College ground in Islampet,Vijayawada. Thousands of Muslim Ladies participated and after Namaaz they prayed for Muslim Ummah.
