Madrid : Top level talks between the governments of Spain and Somalia continued Thursday over the situation of the kidnapping of two members of Doctors without Frontiers in that African country.
Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos spoke by telephone with Somali Prime Minister Nur Hassan Hussein today in contacts that began Wednesday after announcement of the abduction of Spanish Doctor Mercedes Garcia and Argentine nurse Pilar Bauza in northwest Somalia.
Official sources in Madrid said the head of the Somali government confirmed that Moratinos will resume negotiations with the captors of the two women.
The four kidnappers are holding the two females hostage in a mountainous area on the outskirts of Bosaso, which area is cordoned off by police.
