New Delhi : The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Delhi unit Tuesday said it is ready for another round of elections, if forced by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
BJP’s Delhi unit chief Vijay Goel also outlined the party’s three-pronged strategy – door-to-door campaign, public meetings and social media campaign – in the fresh elections.
“The BJP cadres would communicate to the people how AAP’s non-serious approach has forced another election upon Delhiites,” Goel said in a statement.
“The BJP did not have the required numbers so we could not form the government. But Congress had given unconditional support to AAP and hence, it had numbers but it still did not form the government,” Goel added.
The impasse over government formation continued Tuesday with the AAP seeking public opinion on coming to power with the outside support of the Congress’s eight legislators.
In a 70-member house, the AAP with 28 seats had emerged as the second largest party after the BJP, which got 31 seats.
