New Delhi : Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi Saturday said he learnt a lesson that it was not polite to ask the government to tear and throw away an ordinance.
“I also got to learn a lesson. I learnt it is not polite to ask for ordinances to be torn and thrown away in dustbin,” Rahul Gandhi said at a function at industrial chamber FICCI.
Gandhi had faced opposition heat when he publicly criticised an ordinance that shielded convicted lawmakers. The ordinance was passed by the cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. After Gandhi spoke against the ordinance, the cabinet withdrew the controversial ordinance.
