Security clash leaves eight militant dead in Pakistan

Islamabad : At least two soldiers and eight militants were killed in a clash between militants and security forces in Pakistan’s northwest tribal area of Khyber Agency, officials said.

Inter-Services Public Relations, the mouthpiece of Pakistan army, said, in a statement, that militants opened fire at an army vehicle in Landi Kotal area of Khyber Agency, a semi-autonomous tribal area at the border with Afghanistan, Xinhua reported Saturday.

Eight militants were killed in retaliation by the forces, while others fled away.

The injured soldiers were shifted to a nearby hospital.
