Kuwait: Abu Sagar, (Sulaiman Bader Al-Makki), former Kuwait Parliament Member, handed over a cash award of Rs 10,001 and an honorable plaque to Dr Fathima Sayed Suhail, who won the first place in the essay competition held by Indo-Kuwait Friendship Society (IKFS).
This memento and cash award was given on May 1, 2015 at a function held at Salmiya. Dr Ghalib Al-Mashoor presided over the event, a release from IKFS said.
Sayed Suhail received the prizes on behalf of Dr Fathima, BDS, a dental doctor practicing at Yenepoya Dental College in Mangalore, India.
This was a public competition meant for ladies aged only 23 years coinciding with the life of ‘Rachel Corrie’. The IKFS, a non-profit socio-cultural friendship Indian association here in Kuwait had held the essay competition in the loving memory of martyr Rachel Corrie of the USA, who was killed by Israeli bulldozer while she was protecting Palestinian homes in Gaza last year.
The invitation for the essay participation was announced few months ago and the last date of submission was on December 31, 2014 that was extended to January 31, 2015.
