Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Curfew clamped in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone town following communal violence after Thursday’s Dusshera celebrations continued after two-hour relaxation on Monday, a police official told IANS.
The violence had erupted in Khargone town after demon king Ravana’s effigy was burnt on Dussehra, prompting authorities to impose curfew. The situation has started improving, the official added.
The district police arrested 50 people and imposed an indefinite curfew in parts of the town after some elements from the two groups created trouble and started fighting and pelting stones in the Talab Chowk and Mohan Talkies area of the town after the Dussehra celebrations.
