Bahraich (UP): An employee of the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) has landed himself in hot water after an alleged Twitter account in his name posted a tweet demonising the Muslim community. Santosh Mishra works as a Program Officer at Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) in Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. The tweet was posted under the handle of @santoshmishrAKF on twitter. The account has already been suspended by Twitter.
The handle tweeted anti-Muslim sentiments like, “Proud Hindu Indian. Muslims are cancer of Society. Remove Muslims not from only India, but from whole planet (sic).”
Importantly, the tweet has been made with the name of the employee, designation and the name of the organisation. Pawan Kumar Sahni, who works as a Finance and Administration Assistant at Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) in Bahraich district confirmed that the said employee is working at their office, but clarified that the employee has been deliberately put in the dock in order to tarnish his image.
“This isn’t his account. He is being trapped into this. Someone known to him has used his photo from Facebook to create this account. The employee has been working with us for the past 4-5 years and we know him well. He can’t do such kind of thing,” Sahni added.
“He doesn’t use Twitter at all .We came to know about this today morning and we have already given a written complaint to the Superintendent of Police, Bahraich and also forwarded a complaint to the Cyber cell, Lucknow,” he further clarified.
The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is not-for-profit international development agency and seeks to provide long-term solutions to problems of poverty, hunger, illiteracy and ill health in the poorest parts of South and Central Asia, Eastern and Western Africa, and the Middle East.
