Iran-Saudi Arabia parliamentary friendship group meet in Riyadh

Tehran : The first meeting of Iran-Saudi Arabia parliamentary friendship group was held in Riyadh on Jan 26.

Head of Iran’s delegation Ali Riaz referring to the old ties between the two countries stressed that Iran and Saudi Arabia have common viewpoints in many cases and can take advantage of that in bolstering interests of the two countries and the Islamic world, by exchanging political and parliamentary delegations .

Iran’s majlis deputy said, “Considering excellent position of the two countries in the region, they can foil plots of enemies of Islam and support each others in the world.”

Riaz also appreciated Riyadh position for Iran’s nuclear dossier.

Head of friendship group of Saudi Arabia parliament Khalid bin Ebrahim al-Avad, underlined expansion of bilateral ties with Iran.

Referring to the intention of both countries’ officials to deepen bilateral ties, the Saudi MP said sincere and brotherly behavior of heads of the two countries in the Doha meeting sent a message to the world.

He said, “Creating disunity and religious conflicts in the Islamic countries is a dangerous virus which threatens the Islamic world and the regional countries.”

Al-Avad said, “Saudi government has always considered using nuclear energy as a right of all countries of the region.”
