Abu Dhabi : The United Arab Emirates (UAE) based Zayed Foundation for Charitable and Humanitarian Works (ZFCHW) is starting two educational projects in India and the Philippines with a total cost of about $4 million, WAM news agency reported Sunday.

The two projects – the Zayed Women College in New Delhi, India and Zayed Islamic Centre in Jolo, the Philippines – are aimed at giving a long-term boost to education and human development, said Director General of ZFCHW Mohammed bin Obaid Al-Dhaheri, who is leading a delegation to both countries to inaugurate the projects.

Indian Ambassador to the UAE Talmiz Ahmed praised ZFCHW as a humanitarian organisation that has strong presence in India and other Asian countries and described the Zayed Women College in New Delhi as a significant investment in human development.

The Abu Dhabi-based foundation is actively supported in its charitable activities by the UAE government and has spent about $7 million in various humanitarian projects in India and the Philippines since 1993.
