Baghdad : A U.S. soldier was killed by a roadside bomb explosion in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, the U.S. military said on Thursday.
The soldier was killed on Wednesday when the blast hit his vehicle in western, a military statement said.
The name of the deceased soldier is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, it added.
The latest death bring the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq to more than 3,945 since the outbreak of U.S.-led invasion in2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
