Cairo : Kuwait’s Premier Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah will arrive in Egypt later Tuesday for a two-day visit that will include official talks with the aim of boosting overall ties.
The premier’s first ever visit to Cairo since assuming this post in 2006, Sheikh Nasser and his Egyptian counterpart Dr. Ahmad Nazif will co-chair an upcoming bilateral summit.
This visit is an extension of previous visits by the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in August 2006, as well as a visit by the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in June 2007.
Considerable exchange and cooperation has been going on between corporations, firms, and civic bodies in the two nations.
While Kuwaiti investments are playing a major role in boosting Egypt’s overall economic standing, Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) has so far presented Egypt with 30 loans worth over USD 1.5 billion.
Due to their facilitated conditions and flexible nature, these loans were and are still lauded by Egyptian officials.
This visit is part of an Arab tour which commenced with a stop in Syria Monday, and the Kuwaiti premier will head to Jordan from Egypt.
Jordan welcomed the visit of Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah scheduled for Wednesday.

Al-Thahabi pointed out that Kuwait is one of his country’s main investment partners, noting that the Kuwaiti investments in Jordan come to a value of USD 6 million and cover different fields like industry, transportation, infrastructure, energy, logistic services, tourism, finance, trade, and communications.
Meanwhile, Speaker of the Jordanian Parliament Abdulhadi Al-Majali said the visit of Sheikh Nasser will be an opportunity to boost the Jordanian-Kuwaiti political, economic, and cultural relations.
The visit will also be an opportunity to raise the Kuwaiti investments in Jordan, increase the Jordanian manpower in Kuwait, and exchange expertise, he emphasized.
