New Delhi : Leander Paes started the week on a grim note as after his Davis Cup team-mates’ revolt against him, the veteran pro also dropped two rungs to the 17th place in the Association of Tennis Professional (ATP) doubles rankings issued Monday.
Paes, with 2445 points, finds himself in the 17th spot as against last week’s 15th, while his estranged partner Mahesh Bhupathi is static at 19th position.
Another Indian Rohan Bopanna, who was among those who have refused to play future Davis Cup ties under Paes’ captaincy, has also dropped three places to the 57th spot in the doubles rankings.
Meanwhile, Sania Mirza held on to her previous week’s 32nd and 23rd spot in singles and doubles rankings of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).
