New Delhi: To press their demand for the implementation of Justice Ranganath Mishra Commission report, the All India Momin Conference staged a sit-in on 4th March at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
The Mishra Commission has recommended reservation for backward and Dalit Muslims. Hundreds of people attached to the organization came from 15 states to take part in the demonstration.
According to a press statement released by the organization, its leaders presented a memorandum about their demand to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
Besides the implementation of Mishra Commission report, the organization also demanded the government to check bias in extending relief and compensation to riot victims.
