Mumbai : Enraged parents and Shiv Sena activists Friday beat up the principal of King George School in Bhandup suburb of Mumbai following allegations by students that a teacher had been molesting them for the past two years.
The mob barged into the school and attacked the principal since they could not find the teacher. They beat him up and blackened his face, Deputy Commissioner of Police Datta Karale told IANS.
“The teacher has been identified as Avinash Salvi and a police team has been sent to his residence to arrest him,” he said.
A case of molestation and outraging the modesty of a woman has been registered against Salvi, Karale said. Students have told the police that the teacher used to molest girls aged 12 and 13.
“Two girls who used to study in the school 10 years ago have also told us that they were molested by Salvi,” Karale added.
