Gaza : Israeli Minister of Internal Security Avraham Dichter said Friday the Palestinian residents of East Jerusalem who are involved in armed acts against Israel should be deported to the West Bank.
He made the remarks while mourning the Israelis who were killed last night attack against a Jewish seminary in West Jerusalem, Israeli Radio reported.
Meanwhile, Commander of Israeli Police General Dudi Cohen said the attack against Merkaz Harav Seminary was a separate incident, perpetrated individually by a Palestinian attacker unlike what was previously suggested.
However, it does not mean that the Palestinians started a third uprising against Israel, Cohen noted.
The seriousness of the attack lies in the fact that it was perpetrated by one of the residents of Jerusalem who used to have an Israeli ID, he believes.
The attacker is reportedly a resident of Jebel Al-Mukabber district, East Jersalem.
The Israeli authorities maintained the maximum alert which was declared soon after the shooting attack.
The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) hailed the attack that left eight Israelis dead and dozens of others injured Friday but stopped short of claiming responsibility for it.
The attack is a natural response to the Israeli continuous onslaught against Gaza Strip, spokesman of Izzuddin Al-Qassam Battalions, the armed wing of Hamas, in Gaza Abu-Obaida told reporters.
